It is nice to see the different spellings and terms used for sandals; “Chale Wote” and “Togota” are the terms I grew up with for those rubber/foam slippers.

Although I am of Nzema descent, we’ve always used “Mpaboa” to refer to any enclosed shoe or sandals.

I’m now in the states and this site helps me keep up on my Ghanaian vernacular!??
